Huawei is ringing in the new year 2019 in India with a new affordable smartphone called the Huawei Y9 2019. The Huawei Y9 2019 has been launched in India for Rs 15,990 and will be available for buying from Amazon India from January 15. For a limited period, Huawei will be bundling Boat Rockerz Sports Bluetooth headphones worth Rs 2,990 with the Huawei Y9 2019, the company has announced.

The Huawei Y9 2019 comes with Huawei and Honor’s signature gradient colour design with an iPhone X-style notch on the front, although being a budget device also means that it rocks a plastic body (with a glossy finish). It comes with a 6.5-inch 1080p+ display and Huawei’s in-house Kirin 710 processor under the hood. It comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. The phone is further backed by a sizeable 4,000mAh battery and it charges via standard micro-USB.

The Huawei Y9 2019 also packs two cameras on the front: a 13MP and another 2MP sensor with features like 3D portrait lighting. Both the rear and front cameras also pack lots of AI or artificial intelligence: they can apparently recognize 500 scenes in as many as 22 categories and then accordingly they can selectively tweak the settings to produce enhanced photos, according to Huawei.
