Airtel moves closer to 5G, to demonstrate use case scenarios next week
India Mobile Congress 2019: Airtel says it will demonstrate 5G use case scenarios next week in New Delhi. DoT has also granted Huawei permission for the same.

Airtel will showcase and demo use cases of its 5G network at India Mobile Congress (IMC) next week. three-day telecom event is scheduled between October 14-16 in New Delhi. Airtel says it will demonstrate '5G network user experience' at IMC. Along with that, Airtel says it will also showcase some of its pre-5G techlogies such as Licensed Assisted Access (LAA).

Airtel will demonstrate use case scenarios around its industrial applications for Smart Factories, IoT And data centres that Airtel says 'will help businesses lever cloud, drive deep analytics and deliver a great digital experience to ir customers.'

'Smart cities, smart mobility, smart homes'
At IMC, Airtel is expected to showcase smart cities connectivity solutions such as traffic control and surveillance system, pollution check, traffic enforcement system, street lighting and more. Airtel is also expected to showcase smart mobility connectivity solutions for next-gen two-wheeler and four-wheeler vehicles. Airtel Xstream will also be on display at IMC.
Airtel claims it serves more than 2,000 large businesses and 500,000 SMBs in enterprise connectivity .

In related news, Department of Telecom (DoT) has granted Huawei permission to conduct 5G 'use cases' demos at upcoming India Mobile Congress (IMC). In response to DoT's d, Huawei said green signal sends a "positive mess" and will bolster industry's confidence to work with company.

India is yet to take a call on wher it intends to place curbs on Huawei or allow firm to participate in 5G trials.
