According to a recent report by App Annie, Indian smartphone users stand third in list of 'Maximum time spent on devices' after Indonesia and Brazil. People of Indonesia spend an average of 5.2 hours a day on ir smartphones, after Brazil which is at 4.8 hours a day. Third on list is India, with an average smartphone usage time of 4.6 hours a day, which is close to a 40% year-on-year rise. Global Smartphone Usage

While total population of world in 2021 stands close to 7.9 billion, several global statistics and record keepers like Statista and BankMyCell claim total number of smartphone users in world to be around 3.8 billion. It means that approximately half of world's population has access to smartphones. According to report by App Annie, an average global user is spending about 4.2 hours per day on a smartphone, which itself is a 30% increase over two years.

Smartphone usage in India

In terms of OS usage, Android holds a share of about 95%, which iOS holds a near 5% share in Indian market (Statista).
