Apple has quietly introduced a new 128GB storage variant of the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus in India, while also slashing the price of the existing 64GB variant post the iPhone 11 launch. While it’s customary for Apple to revise prices of its existing iPhones soon after the release of its newer iPhones, it’s not every day you see the company trying to make buying an older iPhone even more affordable – in the form of updated options. At the same time, it seems, Apple has discontinued the top end 256GB variant of both the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus in India as both have been taken off its online store.

The iPhone 8 now starts at Rs 39,900 for the base variant with 64GB storage, while the 128GB storage variant will sell for Rs 44,900. The iPhone 8 Plus now starts at Rs 49,900 for the base variant with 64GB storage, while the 128GB storage variant will sell for Rs 54,900. The iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus are not the most affordable iPhones that you can get though – Apple is also continuing to sell the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus in India. The iPhone 7 starts at Rs 29,900 for the base variant with 32GB storage while the top-end variant with 128GB storage costs Rs 34,900. The iPhone 7 Plus starts at Rs 37,900 for the base variant with 32GB storage while the top-end variant with 128GB storage costs Rs 42,900.

Elsewhere, Apple has also slashed the price of the iPhone XR in India. The iPhone XR which was launched at a starting price of Rs 76,900 for the base variant with 64GB storage now starts at Rs 49,900 in India. The 128GB variant of the iPhone XR which was launched at Rs 81,900 will now sell for Rs 54,900. The iPhone XS is also getting a Rs 10,000 price cut in India. The iPhone XS now starts at Rs 89,900 (previously Rs 99,900) for the 64GB variant while its 256GB variant will now be available for Rs 1,03,900 (previously Rs 1,14,900).

At the same time, Apple seems to have discontinued the iPhone XS Max to possibly make way for the new iPhone 11 Pro Max which has been launched in India at more or less similar prices.
