An iPhone SE-like new iPhone is now said to be on the cards in 2020 designated exclusively for emerging markets. This is also rumoured to be a watered-down variant tailor-made to fit in the needs of the users in these markets across the world. These rumours theoretically means that the speculated iPhone SE successor mwould even be a comparatively low-cost variant. At this point in time, it is worth remembering that iPhone sales have been low especially in countries like India (for the record, India is now a developed and potential market).  

The rumoured watered-down iPhone SE

It is not known as to whether the above rumoured iPhone SE model would be applicable to the Indian scheme of things. As per a Nikkei Asian Review report, the unnamed but similar to current-gen iPhone SE variant could be launched during spring 2020 even to make up for lost market opportunities in China which has been dominated by smartphone brands like Xiaomi, Huawei. Hence, rumour mills are now rife that this device would be an advanced iPhone SE edition. These phones may or may not boost sales, but would definitely give Apple loyalists lot to cheer about in the form of an affordable-yet reliable iPhone variant, once officially launched. The iPhone SE has officially ended operations in India.

New iPhone SE technical specifications

The Nikkei Asian Review report also adds that the size of the “new iPhone SE” would be smaller and comparable to the 4.7-inch iPhone 8. There would reportedly also be the liquid crystal display on for the screens of the speculated new iPhone SE devices. At this point in time, the other key technical specifications of this new iPhone SE is also yet to come to the fore. These should be competitive, if the revival of market share (of Apple) turns out true.  

Finally, in related news, Apple is expected to come out with newer iPad models in September itself. This event is also expected, by Apple loyalists, to take place during the iPhone 11 launch event.  Both the variants of the new iPad would be powered by the A12 Bionic processor. These claim to offer up to 10 hours of multimedia watching time.
