Oops! Samsung caught using a DSLR photo to promote its phone’s camera capabilities and it's not the first time

In what could be an embarrassing news, Samsung has been caught using a photo taken on DSLR to promote Galaxy A8 Star’s camera capabilities on the company's Hong Kong website. What’s even more surprising is that this, in fact, isn’t the first time Samsung is making headlines for trying to pull such a trick

In what could be an embarrassing news, Samsung has been caught using a photo taken on DSLR to promote Galaxy A8 Star’s camera capabilities on company's Hong Kong website. What’s even more surprising is that this, in fact, isn’t first time Samsung is making helines for trying to pull such a trick. Earlier this year in Brazil, Samsung was caught promoting stock photos as Galaxy A8’s camera samples on Twitter.

In recent incident, Serbian photographer Dunja Djudjic, who shot photo herself, was informed by EyeEm that one of her photos was sold on Getty. Out of curiosity, she explains, she performed a reverse photo search only to find out that photo was used on Samsung Galaxy A8 Star’s landing p in Hong Kong.

photo spotted on Samsung’s website was photoshopped to an extent that one can easily spot difference between two. She furr explained in her blog post that Samsung ended up using (and photoshopping) her picture only to promote Galaxy A8 Star’s portrait mode inste of using actual pictures shot on phone in question.

“My first reaction was to burst out into laughter. Just look at Photoshop job y did on my face and hair! I’ve always liked my natural hair color (even though it’s turning gray black and white), but I guess creator of this franken-im prefers reddish tones. Except in eyes though, where y removed all of blood vessels.”

Samsung did t only photoshop Djudjic’s face but completely changed original background. Djudjic said that she was t able to verify if Samsung was genuine purchaser of photo or t.
