Ookla: Pakistan, China has faster mobile internet speeds than India

According to Speedtest Global Index August 2019 data, India ranks 131 among 145 countries in terms of mobile internet speeds. Several Asian countries including Pakistan and China have faster Internet speeds than India, show the data. While India has slower mobile internet speeds, it ranks 70 in 176 countries as far as fixed broadband internet speeds are concerned. Mobile internet speeds for August 2019 had a global average of 28.02 Mbps download speeds and 10.87 Mbps upload speeds. While the global average upload speed has remained pretty much the same since August 2018, global average download speed has recorded a significant increase over the last year.

India ranks behind in average mobile internet speeds

As of August 2019, Pakistan, as a country has an of average 13.09 Mbps, download speeds and 9.69 Mbps upload speeds. Meanwhile, the report shows, India has an average of 10.65 Mbps download speeds and 4.23 Mbps upload speeds. China, on the other hand, has an average of 39.98 Mbps download speed and 15.66 Mbps upload speed.

Average fixed broadband speeds

Speedtest's Global Speeds August 2019 data shows global average download speeds of 66.52 Mbps and upload speeds of 35.09 Mbps. As per the report, India has an average of 31.59 Mbps download speeds and 28.93 Mbps upload speeds. Pakistan, on the other hand, has an average of 8.97 Mbps download speeds and 6.43 Mbps upload speeds. China has an average of 91.88 Mbps download speed and 31.53 Mbps upload speed.
