The Redmi K20’s Change petition whose main intent is to reach the makers of the smartphone and Manu Kumar Jain – so as to get the price of the smartphone reduced marginally by Rs 2000 has now apparently lost a bit of steam and has managed to garner 6051 signatures out of a targeted 7500. Now, remember that as early as last week, the petition drew in excess of 5000 signatures and was expected to reach its intended target.

But, now, only with a paltry 1000 signatures in one week (remember that the petition garnered 500 signatures only within a couple of days), the campaign needs to pick up signatures to garner lost steam. The campaign was expected to reach its intended 7500 signatures very rapidly if the earlier pace of obtaining signatures are anything to go by.

At this point in time, the Redmi K20 is priced at Rs 22000 for a 64GB base variant. The Change petition also calls for making the 128GB edition of the smartphone as the base edition. The campaign has been advocating for making the price of the handset by Rs 2000.

The petition is still active and requires nearly 1500 signatures to get to its intended 7500 signatures target. The creator of this petition has also written an open letter to Xiaomi.
