Xiaomi is taking fight to OnePlus. Hours after OnePlus launched its first true-blue ‘flagship’ OnePlus 7 Pro (alongside vanilla OnePlus 7 and OnePlus Bullets Wireless 2), Xiaomi has anunced that its Redmi K20 ‘flagship killer’ is coming soon to India. Although tentative time frame has been mentioned, reveal seems more like a teaser trailer to stay tuned for more, and re are a couple of different ways to look at it.

teaser im shared by Xiaomi India’s Redmi handle keeps things simple – flagship killer 2.0 is coming, is what it says. Redmi has played around with color scheme in teaser im to state obvious – phone is question is Redmi K20. Redmi K20 has already been anunced in China and is part of Redmi’s all-new performance driven K-series of phones that will be all about ‘killer’ specs. Case in point, Redmi K20 will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor – which is also same processor that powers OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro phones. teaser im shared by Redmi India re-confirms Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 bit.

w, here’s where things start to get interesting. teaser has been reshared by C Manmohan, who is general manr for Poco India, wherein he subtly hints that “flagship killer 2.0 is coming” was supposed to be his line. Since original Poco F1 was also marketed as a flagship killer designed to take on OnePlus 6, talk of a flagship killer 2.0, invariably hints at a certain Poco F2. w, even though teaser has been shared by Redmi India (and t Poco India), speculation is rife that Poco F2 is (also) possibly coming soon to India.

Which won’t be a surprise since Redmi is said to be working on t one, but two flagship phones and one of m could end up becoming  Poco F2 for India. That phone may be called Redmi K20 Pro (in China), but because Redmi is yet to confirm existence of such a product, we suggest you take this piece of information with a pinch of salt.

Whatever be case, Xiaomi is gearing to launch a Redmi flagship phone with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor inside in India in days to come which is reason eugh to be excited. This is because even though Redmi is w an independent sub-brand of Xiaomi, it is still sticking to its roots - new- Redmi phones still focus on bringing high-end specs at affordable prices.

Redmi chief Lu Weibing has been dropping Easter eggs with regards to its Redmi Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 flagship phone on social media for some time w. phone will be optimized for gaming and boast of two-day battery life. K20 will be also eligible for Android Q beta at launch which means early adopters will be able to try out Google’s latest and greatest software on it alongside Pixel users.
