Reliance Jio, whose Rs 1699 annual prepaid plan is still live, has now come up with a 2GB data per day tariff scheme. USP of this scheme is that it is valid for 84 days. This comes amidst the IUC implementation that levies, as per TRAI, a charge of 6 paise per minute for every non-Jio call.
The Rs 448 plan
Now, as far as the benefits of the Rs 448 plan is concerned, Jio is offering 2GB data per day, along with unlimited voice calling to Jio-numbers. Non-Jio calls could be availed for free with customized IUC recharges that start from as low as Rs 10. This offers 124 IUC minutes for free. The IUC recharge packs go up to Rs 1000.

However, the biggest benefit that the Rs 448 plan offers is the 84 day validity period. This amounts to almost 3 months. This is custom-made for those preferring to download and stream movies for watching. Hence, increased data offering is potentially the order of the day. This prepaid tariff is also custom-made for people wanting to check out excessive multimedia content.
In related news, IUC which is now a matter of contention and discussion in the Indian telecom circles, could end on 1 January 2020 courtesy the zero termination charge (bill-and-keep) regime would come into force from this date. However, certain incumbent telcos want the BAK regime to be implemented by TRAI at a much later date. Nonetheless, Jio has opposed any such move and said that BAK must be implemented from January 2020. Even the Broadband India Federation (BIF) has lent voice to Jio’s call.
