Jio calls to other networks still free if recharged before 9th Oct

Calls would remain free only till the expiry of the current plan. This is only for Jio users having recharged their accounts on or before 9 October 2019.

Reliance Jio outgoing calls would still be free for prepaid subscribers having recharged ir Jio accounts on or before 9 October, to even n-Jio networks. This would be applicable till expiry of current plan of users. This means that Jio users still have plenty to cheer about till expiry of current Jio plan. After expiry of currently availed plan, Jio subscribers would have to opt for IUC recharges in case calls to n-Jio networks are to be me.

With IUC charges for outgoing calls w having become a matter inviting heated debates, Reliance Jio in an official tweet has me it clear that users could continue making free unlimited calls to or networks. This has drawn in intense reactions from netizens (Twitterati). Some apparent Jio users have stated that y would port out while a cross-section of users prefer Jio for its high-speed internet networks. In this regard, if you have recharged on or before 9 October, you could still make free outgoing calls to loved ones/contacts on or networks. Do enjoy facility, while it lasts. If you have opted for a longer validity plan, you are in luck.

To recap, Jio would charge 6 paise per minute as Interconnect Us Charge (IUC) it acquires when subscribers make a call to n-Jio networks. Jio pays this as IUC to or operator on whose network call is received. IUC is decided by TRAI. At this juncture, some incumbent telcos such as Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea have stated that y might t resort to passing on IUC charges to subscribers.
