The Reliance Jio Rs 149 plan which was a popular one, has now seemingly been modified. This revision includes the likes of limited IUC calls as well. At this point in time, it is worth noting that IUC has been a hot topic of discussion as Jio has already imposed 6 paise per minute as IUC charges for voice calls made to non-Jio numbers across India.
The Rs 149 “revised” plan
Now, as per a TelecomTalk report, the Rs 149 plan by Jio now adds as much as 300 minutes of IUC calling – calls from Jio to non-Jio numbers. Also, the validity period of 28 days offered by the plan is also said to be reduced to 24 days. For data, there is 1.5GB data offered per day by the plan. However, at this point in time, when we checked out the official Jio eRecharge portal, the Rs 149 plan (now revised) was not reflecting. Hence, if you are a Jio user, do check for the Rs 149 plan through the MyJio application (app).

Also, the Rs 149 plan with its offering of 300 non-Jio minutes falls into the ambit of the all-in-one plans offered by the telco. For now, these plans start from Rs 222 and go up to Rs 555. These offer free IUC minutes as well. For starters, the Rs 149 plan has been popular amongst those Jio users preferring to recharge monthly. The plan’s 1.5GB data is also popular considering the fact that the multimedia enthusiasts have lots to cheer about with respect to downloading content.
In related news, state-led telco BSNL has now been advertising its new Voluntary Retirement Scheme (VRS) applicable to its employees (eligible ones). This package came as a result of the BSNL revival recently announced by the central government. This also includes the merger of MTNL with BSNL and a resultant free voice calls to the telecom areas in which the former operates.
