It now seems that there would be more smartphones in the Samsung Galaxy A smartphones series lineup; and these could include, the likes of an Android Go device purportedly called the Galaxy A2 Core, as well. This potentially means that the Galaxy A2 Core would be affordable as well.

As per new rumours, that even quote FCC listings, a Samsung smartphone bearing model number SM-A260G has apparently received certification, and this phone is also . However, these rumours deserve to be taken with a pinch of salt considering the fact that this FCC listing does not divulge any hint of the purported Galaxy A2 Core falling into the Google Android Go family of smartphones.

However, there are more details that have surfaced from these rumours, and going by these, this smartphones comes with a 4.96-inch screen, whilst running on Android 8.1 (Oreo) inspired by Android Go. The handset is also rumoured to be driven by an Exynos 7870 SoC housing 1GB RAM under-the-hood.

Connectivity-wise, there should obviously be the LFCTE, Bluetooth 4.0, WI-Fi, microUSB 2.0 connectivity options.

Here, it is worth noting that the FCC filing report also mentions about the SM-A260G running on Android 8.1; hence, there is a pinch of substance regarding the operating system within the purported Galaxy A2 Core. Another aspect is the pricing of the smartphone; with Android Go phones designed to offer affordability, the Galaxy A2 Core when officially launched in India could offer just this. Till the time there are official listings of this phone, the above rumours are just that - rumours.

In related official updates, it is worth noting that the Xiaomi Redmi Go smartphone-developed on the basis of Android Go platform is all set to launch not too far away from now on 19 March. This phone is expected, by loyalists, could be priced below Rs 5000 in India and potential buyer shave already started making references to this handset probably competing with the likes of Reliance Jio’s Jio feature phones (and certain LYF-branded smartphones as well).
