Samsung had recently confirmed that it had seemingly fixed Galaxy Fold and will relaunch it in select markets in September. w, serial tipster Evan Blass has tipped that infamous Galaxy Fold will be launched (in US, possibly) on September 27. Separate reports coming from Korea suggest Samsung will relaunch  Galaxy Fold at IFA on September 6 – with pre-orders beginning immediately post anuncement. Samsung will reportedly start shipping Galaxy Fold in Korea from September 11.

“Samsung has taken time to fully evaluate product design, make necessary improvements and run rigorous tests to validate changes we made,” Samsung had informed via a blog post in July. A September window for a relaunch was also confirmed, although company didn’t anunce any specific date – it is yet to anunce an official date, for that matter. Wher or t Samsung is looking to make some sort of anuncement regarding Galaxy Fold at IFA is something only time will tell – and because September 6 is just two days from w, we’ll kw soon eugh. Going by Evan Blass’ track record with exclusive leaks, we have reason to believe, September 27 availability of Galaxy Fold in US might just be real – but again, we’ll have to wait and watch out on that one as well.

What went wrong

Galaxy Fold was pulled off shelves ahead of its scheduled April 26 launch after many review units of foldable started breaking – eir because of debris that made its way inside from under exposed areas of hinge, or when top protective layer of main display (which looked like it was a screen protector) was peeled off. Samsung had recalled all review units and started an internal investigation to find out root cause(s) of problem.

Samsung Galaxy Fold fixed?

Samsung has confirmed that it has extended top protective layer of display beyond bezel, so it’s apparent it’s an “integral” part of display – and isn’t meant to be removed. company has also strengned top and bottom of hinge area by adding protection caps and reduced between hinge and body to prevent debris from entering. Samsung has also apparently used time out to work on Galaxy Fold’s software “optimizing more apps and services for its unique foldable UX.”
