Samsung’s next Galaxy M-series phone will likely be called the Galaxy M50 and it will be launched in India on November 15, according to a new 91mobiles report. The information is said to come from a “Samsung notification to its retail partners, which reads “we look to provide the next M-series smartphone.” No further details have been shared.

Considering that this is the next Galaxy M phone, it’s highly likely that Samsung will bring it to offline sale channels also. The Galaxy M-series, to recall, has been an online-only affair in India since launch. Phones under the line-up are sold via Amazon India and Samsung’s own e-store. But this is likely to change soon as Samsung is reportedly looking to launch its next Galaxy M phone offline “at the same time and same price."

Details about the Galaxy M50, or whatever Samsung decides to call its next Galaxy M-series phone, are scarce as of this moment but given that the Galaxy M40 is one of the most affordable phones in India to pack a punch-hole display, something similar will be expected from its successor as well. That is to say that the Galaxy M50 is also expected to pack something unique. More details are awaited.

Speaking of specs, the Galaxy M40 comes with a 6.3-inch 1080p+ TFT LCD display. The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 processor paired with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage which is also expandable via a hybrid micro-SD card slot. The dual SIM phone runs Android 9 Pie-based One UI software. The Galaxy M40 further packs a 3,500mAh battery with 15W fast charging through USB Type-C. There’s no headphone jack, but Samsung bundles USB Type-C earphones in the box.

On to the cameras, the Galaxy M40 comes with three rear cameras consisting of one 32MP sensor (Samsung GD1 sensor for effective 8MP photos) with f/1.7 aperture, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor and a 5MP sensor for depth sensing aka portrait photography. On the front, the Galaxy M40 comes with a 16MP camera with f/2.0 aperture.

The Galaxy M40 was launched in India in June at a price of Rs 19,990.
