Samsung Galaxy S10 may t feature iris scanner at time of launch next year, according to a new report by a media outlet ETnews. Since n, Samsung continues to offer iris scanner with ir Galaxy S and te-series smartphones.

However, this is t first time rumours about removing iris scanner off Samsung Galaxy S10 have emerged online. Apart from ETNews report, a Twitter tipster Ice Universe said that Samsung Galaxy S10 will ditch iris scanner in favour of ultrasonic fingerprint reer, which is faster and has more screen real-estate to recognise input compared to optical fingerprint sensors.

To shed some light on differences between two, in ory, ultrasonic fingerprint reer produces more accurate, 3D im of a finger to aunticate only a registered digit when in use. A standard optical fingerprint reer, on or hand, uses light to illuminate a small portion of screen to verify entire, registered finger. Even though an in-display fingerprint sensor will be slower by a beat, this feature is gaining a lot of popularity particularly as it helps in bumping up phone display.

Recently, OnePlus 6T launched with standard, optical in-display fingerprint reer. Prior to OnePlus 6T, certain Vivo phones like Vivo X21, NEX and V11 Pro came in with optical fingerprint reer techlogy in India and global markets.

If everything goes as per se emerging reports, Samsung may soon have a stunning, truly-bezel less smartphone with futuristic, ultrasonic fingerprint scanning mechanism in place. Samsung Galaxy S10 is also tipped to feature a triple-camera system on rear whereas selfie camera is expected to go behind display.
