This year’s Galaxy S10 phones pack Samsung’s Dynamic AMOLED display. Next year’s Galaxy S11 phones may pack something new, on display front, and while we don’t kw what that would be, chances are we’re looking at a high-refresh rate – possibly 90Hz or more. Samsung has filed a patent at Korean Intellectual Property Office for a ‘SAMOLED’ moniker in Smartphone Displays category that could make its way to next Galaxy S phone – or perhaps, even next Galaxy Fold.
We don’t kw what SMOLED stands for just yet, but it shouldn’t be confused with Super AMOLED, which is ar Samsung proprietary techlogy. Samsung’s Dynamic AMOLED display brought in HDR10+ support and high pixel density – among or improvements. It would be interesting to see what SMOLED brings to table. A higher refresh rate seems plausible because this is something that was previously rumoured for Galaxy te 10 – it is said that Samsung decided to axe feature at last minute, possibly to bring it to next-generation Galaxy S phones.

Galaxy S11 is rumoured to come in three sizes and as many as five variants, according to serial tipster Evan Blass. While three sizes for Galaxy S11 may t seem surprising anymore what with Galaxy S10 also having three different sizes, it is ir purported numbers that are particularly interesting. ditionally, top-tier Galaxy S11+ may come in only 5G.
While this year’s Galaxy S10e, Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+ have a 5.8-inch, 6.1-inch and 6.3-inch displays, next year’s Galaxy S11 phones are tipped to come in 6.4, 6.7 and 6.9-inch screen sizes. Ar interesting tidbit shared by Blass is that all Galaxy S11 phones will come with a curved-edge display – including entry-level Galaxy S11e. Galaxy S10e, to recall, has a flat display as a measure to keep costs down. Lastly, Samsung will launch Galaxy S11 lineup as per trition – meaning in mid to late February – according to Blass.
