Samsung to launch new premium smartphone to take on OnePlus 6

Samsung India is now gearing up for the launch of its new phone in the Galaxy flagship series that would take on the OnePlus 6.

In an attempt to recapture its leership in Indian premium smartphone segment, Samsung India is w gearing up for launch of its new phone in Galaxy flagship series that would take on OnePlus 6. 

As per reports, upcoming model will refresh Galaxy A lineup and would be tagged at around Rs 30,000. new phone is reportedly expected to be available with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal stor with Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor.

new smartphone is reportedly to sport a 6.3-inch full HD+ AMOLED Inifinity bezel-less display. Optically, phone is likely to be equipped with a dual rear camera of 16+24MP enabled with Live Focus Feature. Meanwhile, re would be a 24MP camera in front.

new phone with mentioned price tag would directly lock horns with base variant of OnePlus 6, Mi Max 2 and upcoming Poco's F1 smartphone.

Earlier this month, Counterpoint, a market research firm based in Hong Kong which has been regularly reporting on Indian mobile markets, found that OnePlus recorded its highest growth in second quarter, which was largely credited to launch of latest version of its flagship OnePlus 6. 

Surprisingly market for premium segment phones (Rs 30,000 or more) which was earlier dominated by Samsung and Apple in India, saw a steep fall in sales as compared to its previous year's figures.

OnePlus w stands on top of India's premium smartphone market with a 40% share followed by Samsung with 34% and Apple with 14%. On a related te, South Korean electronics giant h earlier ackwledged 'soft' demand in its premium flagship S9. 

OnePlus' figures suggested that one-third of its global revenue was contributed by Indian market. It has also taken steps towards providing better customers service that is t just limited to online redressal. company has also opened offline 'experience' stores which help customers have a better look and feel at its phones.
