Vodafone has now extended its double data offering to some of its widely used prepaid tariff plans. The latest scheme to join this list is the Rs 199 plan. Now, under the new benefits, there would be an extra 1.5 GB data offered to users.
IUC and double data
The telco has made this development official via Twitter. Again, in this tweet, it has teased the aspect of unlimited calls being truly free. This is apparently in reference to Reliance Jio levying 6 paise per minute as Interconnect Usage Charges (IUC) to users making voice calls to other non-Jio networks. Vodafone’s latest stand, on this matter, is that it would pay IUC and let levy this burden on customers.

Now, the Rs 199 plan offers a total of 3GB data. The validity of this plan is 28 days. This is a prepaid plan. As per netizens (twitterati), the Rs 199 plan, with its updated data offerings, could be valid in only select telecom circles of Vodafone. Hence, you could check out the plan and let us know if you have received extra data. It seems like this plan would be valid for only a limited time, gauging netizens’ reactions. Do check out Vodafone’s tweet below:
In related news, Reliance Jio has started levying 6 paise per minute s IUC charges to customers making voice calls to non-Jio networks. However, if you have newly recharged your pack, you would not be charged IUC till the validity of your pack expires. Post the expiry of the validity, IUC would be levied, you could recharge for specific plans in order to save IUC charges. Jio’s IUC-specific packs start from Rs 10. These custom packs offer extra data as well.
