A new Vodafone Rs 169 prepaid recharge plan is now live for users and USP of this plan is that it offers free voice calling and 1GB 3G/4G data on a daily basis. At this point in time, this plan is live and reflecting within the prepaid recharge section at the official Vodafone portal. The plan is present under the “Bonus” sub-section within the recharge main section online.
The Vodafone Rs 169 plan is valid for 28 days and specific details of this prepaid offer include unlimited (250 minutes per day) local and STD calls also having roaming under its ambit. For 4G-LTE smartphone users, data offered per day is 1GB post which the telco would charge 50 paise per MB of data consumed. There would also be 100 free text messages (SMS messages) per day under the scheme.

Now, it is worth noting that the Vodafone’s Rs 169 prepaid recharge plan being valid for 28 days could result in a direct competition with yet another tariff initiative that offers similar benefits as this, but is charged at Rs 159 for 28 days. This recharge tariff is likely limited to only certain telecom circles as searching for these yielded only limited results as far as Vodafone-Idea telecom circles are concerned.
Apart from the Rs 169 plan, Vodafone has also introduced the Rs 199 prepaid recharge scheme that comes bundled with 1.5GB data and free voice calling plus other benefits as in the Rs 169 plan. Validity of the former is 28 days.

Here, it is seemingly clear that both the Rs 169 as well as Rs 199 prepaid plans are custom-suited for the corporate office going subscribers not preferring to opt postpaid plans. At this juncture, various rumour mills have also launched comparisons between the Vodafone Rs 169 prepaid plan and Reliance Jio’s Rs 149 recharge scheme which is also valid for 28 days and offers 1 GB LTE data per day plus unlimited voice calls. This may not be the need of the hour as both the recharge plans come with their own upsides and downsides. Also, it entirely depends on the consumer mindset as far as choosing between Vodafone and Jio 28-day recharge offers are concerned.
