Incumbent telco Vodafone is now said to have re-debuted the Rs 20 prepaid recharge plan that was earlier valid for 28 days. This scheme should now be useful for those subscribers preferring to keep their numbers intact without having to spend too much on monthly recharges. This is custom-made for users using Vodafone as a secondary SIM-card.
The Rs 20 plan
Now, as per a Telecom Talk report, the Rs 20 plan is active only in certain telecom circles of Vodafone. As far as benefits under this plan are concerned, it offers full talktime worth Rs 20 for users. The Rs 20 recharge plan is valid for 28 days – which accounts for a whole month under telecom paradigms.

However, the plan does not offer data/free text messages benefit. The full talktime would be under prevailing base rates – as per users’ current plans. In summary Rs 20 recharge = Rs 20 talktime plain and simple. No data or free SMS. As stated earlier, the Rs 20 plan clearly falls under the minimum recharge offer. Earlier, Vodafone had raised this ceiling to Rs 35.
At this point in time, users could check out their respective telecom circles and official Vodafone retailers as the reported Rs 20 recharge plan is still not active across all telecom circles. Do check out and proceed, prior to recharging.

In related news, Vodafone has stated that it would not levy extra Interconnect Usage Charges (IUC) for now. For the uninitiated, IUC is fixed by TRAI at 6 paise per minute and this is paid, by an onward operator from where your voice calls originate, to the recipient operator. This is now a hot topic of discussion in India. Reliance Jio has, as a result of IUC, has come up with all-in-one plans that also offer free minutes to non-Jio numbers.
