What is 'Picture in Picture' in the iOS 14? Compatible devices and how to use the update

WWDC 2020 was first-ever only online event hosted by Apple. Apple anunced an early look of iOS 14 features that will be available later this year. Several new iOS 14 features were launched at WWDC 2020 event like widgets, app clips, app library and much more. However, one of most interesting features is iOS 14 picture-in-picture feature.

Are you wondering ‘what is picture in picture in iOS14?’   iOS 14 Picture in Picture feature allows you to watch a thumbnail video in corner of your screen while you browse or applications. So you can w chat, re a story or perform or tasks while your video plays in background. Furr, you can even shut video whilst audio keeps playing in background. If thumbnail is disrupting view of or applications, you can dismiss window. However, even when you dismiss window, a tab remains open on screen. If you wish to access thumbnail again, you can simply pull tab again.

Picture-in-Picture feature has been available for Android devices since quite some time. feature was earlier available to iP users; however, iPhone users did t have access to it. Although Apple has officially named this feature as Picture-in-Picture, it is reportedly popularly kwn as ‘Pip’ in mobile circles.

How to use Picture-in-Picture feature?

1. Start FaceTime or play a video.
2. Select home icon.
3. tice your video playing in Picture-in-Picture window.
4. Try navigating through different applications.
5. Dismiss video if you don’t want it to hover any longer.
