Xiaomi launched its new Redmi K20 series phones, Redmi K20 Pro and Redmi K20, in India on Wednesday. Redmi K20 series phones, particularly Redmi K20 Pro, are Xiaomi’s answer to OnePlus’ OnePlus 7 series – something that Xiaomi has been very vocal about. In typical Xiaomi fashion, both  Redmi K20 Pro and Redmi K20 pack insanely high-end specs at ridiculously low prices.

Redmi K20 Pro is a high-end phone like Samsung Galaxy S10, iPhone XS, Pixel 3 and even OnePlus 7 Pro. But unlike any of se high-end phones, Redmi K20 Pro starts at Rs 27,999 for  base variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB stor while top-end variant with 8GB RAM and 256GB stor has been launched at Rs 30,999 - for some perspective, vanilla OnePlus 7 starts at Rs 32,999 (6GB/128GB) in India.

For that ridiculously low price, you get a 3D glass build (with a flashy grient design that Xiaomi is calling ‘aura prime’), a 6.39-inch 1080p+ AMOLED screen with an in-screen fingerprint reer and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection, a top-of--line Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor paired with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB stor (n-expandable), triple rear cameras (48MP+13MP+8MP), a 20MP pop-up selfie camera, Android Pie-based MIUI 10 software, and a 4,000mAh battery with 27W fast charging via USB -C – clearly, that’s a lot of smartphone. At half price of your aver run-of--mill flagship.

Redmi also has slightly toned-down vanilla Redmi K20 that it is launching alongside Redmi K20 Pro for those looking to grab a flagship smartphone at an even more affordable price – it swaps Snapdragon 855 with a mid-range Snapdragon 730, 48MP Sony IMX586 with a 48MP Sony IMX582, and drops down fast charging to 18W. Rest of specifications (as well as design) remain same. Redmi K20 starts at Rs 21,999 for base variant with 6GB RAM and 64GB stor, going all way to Rs 23,900 for top-end variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB stor.
