After the Redmi K20, Redmi Note 7 Pro users in India are now receiving the MIUI 11 update – in line with Xiaomi’s official announcement. Redmi Note 7 Pro users are taking to Xiaomi’s online MIUI forum to confirm getting the MIUI 11 update, alongside sharing screenshots of the said update. The MIUI 11 update for the Redmi Note 7 Pro weighs in at 746B and tags along the October Android security patch as well. It isn’t clear if the MIUI update also bumps up the Android version to Android 10 in the Redmi Note 7 Pro.
Xiaomi will be updating as many as 28 of its devices to MIUI 11. MIUI is the Android-based software that runs on all Xiaomi devices except its Android One phones like the Mi A3. Xiaomi had announced that it will roll out the MIUI 11 update in a phased manner beginning October end (from October 22, to be precise) at the Redmi Note 8 Pro/Redmi Note 8 India launch keynote event. And indeed, it has started rolling out the update with the Redmi K20 and Redmi Note 7 Pro falling in the first wave of devices to get the new update.

The first phase which will last until October 31 will see Xiaomi phones such as the Poco F1, Redmi K20, Redmi Y3, Redmi 7, Redmi Note 7, Redmi Note 7s, and Redmi Note 7 Pro getting the MIUI 11 update. In the second phase (November 4-November 12) phones like the Redmi K20 Pro, Redmi 6, Redmi 6 Pro, Redmi 6A, Redmi Note 5, Redmi Note 5 Pro, Redmi 5, Redmi 5A, Redmi Note 4, Redmi Y1, Redmi Y1 Lite, Redmi Y2, Redmi 4, Mi Mix 2, and Mi Max 2 will be updated to MIUI 11. Phones like the Redmi Note 6 Pro, Redmi 7A, Redmi 8, Redmi 8A and Redmi Note 8 will be updated to MIUI 11 in phase 3 (November 13-November 29). The Redmi Note 8 Pro will meanwhile be the last to get the MIUI update between December 18-26.
Xiaomi claims the MIUI 11 update “significantly upgrades the design element and brings a new set of refined features with a visually enhanced interface with Dark Mode,” plus it brings “new customizations to the popular Always-on display” in compatible phones. The MIUI 11 update will also bring new dynamic ambient nature sounds for notifications plus a new Mint Keyboard with support for over 25 Indian languages. But just because a Xiaomi phone is updated to MIUI 11, doesn’t mean that it will also be updated to Android 10.
