As per GSMArena report, Xiaomi has also been touting a "new independent brand" tagline, suggesting that Redmi would be an entirely new and independent Xiaomi sub-brand, similar to Honor and Realme. But this should not necessarily impact the brand's R&D and manufacturing operations. More clarity is awaited on the topic of Redmi's branding strategy going forward.
