Xiaomi’s social focus, which has been coming to fore of late, has now surfaced in a seemingly unique way. On Children’s day, Manu Jain and Xiaomi have donated lakhs of notebooks to school-going children and students. Now, this is not a big development from a general everyday news perspective, but what makes it seemingly unique is that it has come from a consumer technology brand (Chinese) that also looks like it believes in giving back to society, rather than use the society just as a means of doing product sales and for finding cheap labour.

Now, Xiaomi’s donation of notebooks to lakhs of children has led to a trend on social media. Netizens (Twitterati) have seemingly been swept away by this gesture.
