PlayStation Network back online after major global outage

PlayStation Network global outage: Sony's PlayStation Network suffered a major global outage on Tuesday morning with gamers across the globe complaining of being unable to play and download games, signing in their accounts, and making in-app purchases via the PlayStation Network. Now, hours after the outage first began, the services on the PlayStation Network have been partially restored.

According to the details shared by the company on the PlayStation Network Page, the company has resolved all the account management issues. With this update, gamers across the globe should be able to sign in their accounts, create new accounts and edit account details without any issues.

In addition to this, the company has also fixed issues affecting the functioning of the PlayStation Store. With this, gamers should be able to make in-app purchases, download games, browse the PlayStation Store, search and redeem vouchers easily.

These issues were persistent on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita and PlayStation Web and have been resolved on all platforms.

Not all PlayStation Network issues have been resolved yet

That said, not all issues pertaining to the PlayStation Network have been resolved yet. The PlayStation Network Service Status page shows that issues pertaining to game streaming have not been resolved yet, which may prevent gamers from launching apps.

"You might have difficulty launching games, apps or network features. We're working to resolve the issue as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience," the company wrote in an update on the PlayStation Network Service Status page.

However, this issue is restricted primarily to the Sony PlayStation 5. Sony has said that it is working on resolving this issue at the earliest.

Cause of the PlayStation Network outage

It is worth mentioning that Sony hasn't shared the reason that led to this global outage. It hasn't acknowledged the issue on its social media channels either. Hopefully, we will hear more from the company when the issue has been resolved completely.
