However, it is said that game's timeline begins after Battle of Endor in which Empire is in a huge confusion due to death of Emperor Palpatine. But  New Republic has been established during time and Imperial Remnant still commands a formidable Starfleet. Star Wars Squadrons story will bring forward struggles between New Republic and Imperial fighter squadron facing off against one ar. Also, in a year's time after Star Wars Squadrons taking place, Imperial fleet will be defeated (at Battle of Jakku). This defeat ends Galactic Civil War.
