Why did Bungie sell Halo?
After release of Halo 3, Bungie h anunced that y will be parting way from Microsoft to become an independent company. While Bungie has been involved with making of various Halo games such as ODST and Reach, rights for game have been with Microsoft only. Though company backed out of deal struck with Microsoft, tech giant formed an internal division titled 343 Industries which carried forward work to be done on Halo.
'Frank O'Conr, a former Bungie employee has been serving as creative director for 343 Industries. While anuncing 343 Industries, Microsoft h also anunced that Xbox Live would be becoming a central hub for all halo content. Since n, 343 Industries has been prominent force behind Halo franchise. company's first game titled Halo 4 h released back in vember 6, 2012.

As of w, Bungie has rolled back with rights of Destiny, away fro Activision. As per reports, initial deal between two stated that Bungie and Activision would be in a 10-year partnership, after which rights for game would roll back to Bungie. But 10-year deal evidently did t go through and Activision does t hold exclusive publication rights for game anymore. Bungie has w resorted to self-publishing game on various portals like Epic Games and Discord.
