Mahindra and Mahindra Chairman Anand Mahindra on Thursday joked about Indians being talkative and making long speeches while addressing the Private Sector Forum at the United Nations General Assembly during the Climate Week 2019. The business tycoon tweeted a video of him remarking about 'talkative Indians' while speaking about why he chose to read his speech from a lectern. He humourously said that since Indians tend to be talkative, giving a speech without a script can lead to a disaster as bad as Climate Change. Taking the podium, he said,"...Talkative Indian on stage like that without notes, that's a disaster equivalent to Climate Change," leading to an uproar of laughter from the audience.

Anand Mahindra, in a different Twitter post, also said that he was pleasantly surprised by the large number of participation of CEOs at the event. Eighty-seven CEOS had joined heads of state in the program. He also said that this indicates that the level of awareness on Climate Change among in the Corporate structure has increased. Mahindra spoke about the potential of business to spread awareness about climate change in his speech.

Mahindra and Mahindra says spurt in demand in Bihar likely 

Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd on Wednesday said it is expecting a spurt in demand in Bihar during the upcoming festive season, despite a slowdown in the economy. The optimism is based on factors like a good monsoon, resulting in a spike in rural income and liquidity, besides the recently-announced "positive government initiatives", MD Pawan Goenka told reporters here. Bihar, he said, has been a key market for the company.
