Meet the 19-year-old Indian-origin Ishan Goel, the man behind the ‘world record egg’

year of 2019 began with most bizarre news of all time. A photo of an egg mand to dethrone Kylie Jenner’s birth anuncement photo of daughter Stormi as most liked photo on Instagram. It was as bizarre as it was fun, and it kcked off Kylie’s photo from top spot with a huge margin.

Ever since photo went viral, world has been dying to find out who is person behind this UK-based Instagram account @world_record_egg. Which currently has 8.4 million followers.

Seems like we have to thank a 19-year-old Indian boy to thank for viral post.

Massachusetts-based Ishan revealed how he mand to beat influencer and beauty guru Kylie Jenner:

“re are two core reasons that this post took off. first is that internet fell in love with idea of using a crowdsourced approach to be able to have a touchpoint to a celebrity that could potentially influence that celebrity’s actions or, at very least, garner a response from m. second is that internet quickly began to see it as a challenge, which inspired people to invest ir time and energy into helping drive post into a frenzy”, said Ishan.

“I saw opportunity of taking something viral, and I seized it” – Ishan.

When asked about why he chose an egg out of all things he joked, “For starters, it is a good-looking egg”.

“I think idea was to choose a silly, inanimate object that people would find endearing. People have personified this egg.”

Earlier, Kylie Jenner lost world record of having most liked photo on Instagram to victorious egg. photo, posted online to account world_record_egg by "Egg Gang" on January 4, received more than 18 million likes — breaking Jenner's record. 

"Let’s set a world record toger and get most liked post on Instagram,"  post re. "Beating current world record held by Kylie Jenner (18 million)! We got this."
