OnePlus 13 brings Macro mode with new software update

OnePlus has rolled out a new software update that brings popular Macro mode to OnePlus 13. Available for China version, Macro mode is represented by a petal icon in default camera app, which allows users to go closer to a subject, like an animal or a flower, and its small details.

OnePlus 13's triple cameras -- 50MP main sensor, a 50MP ultrawide sensor, and a 50MP periscope telephoto sensor -- are fine-tuned by Hasselbl. That means new Macro mode also uses iconic camera maker's algorithm for better macro shots using ultrawide camera. implementation, however, is similar to that on latest iPhones. After update, camera app can also automatically switch to Macro mode as soon as a user moves closer to subject.

For now, new Macro mode is available as part of new ColorOS update for OnePlus 13 in China. Since OnePlus 13 is not yet available in international markets, company may d Macro mode to OxygenOS 15 build out-of--box.

OnePlus 13 is company's latest flagship, powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. It has a 6.82-inch full-HD+ 1440p LTPO AMOLED display with an aptive refresh rate of 120Hz. It also packs an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. smartphone comes with up to 24GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. However, reports suggest international version may miss out on top storage configuration and settle for variants with up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. OnePlus 13 packs a 6000mAh battery with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging technology. It also has an IP69 rating for top-level resistance against dust and water.
