Pet owners are posting adorable pictures of their pets on social media, that they might have used as a display picture if the animals were on any dating app.

The Internet has been a home for several viral sensations and recently a new trend is taking over the internet where pet owners are posting adorable pictures of their pets on social media, that they might have used as a display picture if the animals were on any dating app. The hilarious trend started with a Twitter user named Ricki Tarr who posted a picture of her cat posing elegantly, on Twitter on November 10 and asked her followers to share a picture of their pets.  

The picture shared by Tarr features her cat staring into the distance as she captioned the post as saying, "If your pet was on a dating app, post the picture that would be their profile pic."

The post grabbed several eyeballs and netizens took inspiration from the same and shared photographs of their pets. The original post has garnered thousands of likes on Twitter and the adorable pictures of cats, dogs, frogs and birds are flooding the Internet. The post has recorded 3.5 thousand comments on it.

However, this is not the only animal trend that has gone viral in recent days. Earlier this year, the 'snoot challenge' had gone viral on the Internet. The challenge performed by the pooches requires them to put their noses inside a circle formed by the fingers of their owners. It had gained huge popularity as pet owners around the world have flooded the social media platforms with videos of their pets enacting the viral challenge. In fact, the challenge which initially involved only dogs were tried on other pets as well, like cats, birds, and snakes. Netizens were amazed to see different versions of the challenge.
