While many have speculated that it could have been a photo of the moon during an eclipse, Musk has stuck to his guns saying he plans to occupy both the moon and Mars.

Earlier to Musk's mistake, US President Donald Trump had done a similar mistake by suggesting that NASA should focus on Mars instead of sending a manned mission to the moon as the moon was a part of Mars.
Musk, who is known for his eccentric ideas, is slowly on the road to achieving each one of them. While his ideas like colonizing Mars by 2024, envisioning a Martian government are yet to come true, his projects like self-driving electric (Tesla) cars, Starlink- a globe-spanning network of internet satellites, Boring Company's flame thrower and his successful launch of the Tesla 'Roadster' which served as the dummy payload for the February 2018 Falcon Heavy test flight containing a mannequin dressed in a spacesuit had occupied the driver's seat have already seen fruition.
