Swiggy Bolt launch: Swiggy has launched a new food and beverage delivery service in India called Swiggy Bolt that aims to deliver food to the users within a time frame of 10 minutes. The new serivce was announced by Swiggy's CEO of Food Marketplace, Rohit Kapoor, via a post on LinkedIn. "Iconic food brands have been built on the axis of time, taste and convenience. And today a few cities will enjoy the first trial of a unique (and hopefully iconic) marketplace within Swiggy Food," Kapoor wrote in a post on LinkedIn.

As far as the features are concerned, Swiggy Bolt will deliver food items 'with short prep time' from the quick service restaurants (QSRs) located near a user's location.  "Menu will have largely items with short prep time and covering high density locations with low last miles. It is same food but shorter distances," Kapoor added in his post. Reports suggest that the food deliveries under Bolt will come from restaurants that are located with a 2Km radius of the user.

While Kapoor did not share a list of restaurants that will offer Bolt deliveries, reports suggest that the service will order food deliveries from restaurants such as Chai Point, Dunkin' Donuts, KFC, Starbucks, KFC, McDonald's, Burger King, Baskin-Robbins, Chaayos and EatFit to name a few.

As far as the delivery fee is concerned, Kapoor, while responding to a query on LinkedIn, indicated that Swiggy will not charge higher delivery fee for Bolt orders. In his response he indicated that delivery fee could be lower than regular orders owing to shorter distance and shorter delivery time.

Swiggy Bolt availability

As far as availability is concerned, Swiggy Bolt will be available in six Indian cities, including Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Chennai, Delhi and Pune, in the beginning. The company will expand this service to more cities across the country soon.
