Telegram adds new video playback, quality controls, and other features

Telegram has anunced a slew of new features, aimed at enhancing user experience, coming to Android and iOS apps with new version 11.3.0. WhatsApp rival has ded under--hood improvements to make video loing faster, a new tool to control video quality, new playback options, an option to d media after mess has been sent, and last edit timestamps for messs.

Faster video loing and quality

video player will t automatically choose optimal quality based on internet connection for large-channel uplos. This will help users save data while loing videos quickly. Users can w choose preferred quality – high, medium, or low using gear icon. On iOS, swiping up video puts it in Picture-in-Piucture (PiP) mode, letting users continue chatting. Telegram will also optimise and compress videos automatically for channels where high-quality videos will be shared without prior processing, so members can watch content in full resolution on high-speed networks.

New video playback options

Users playing videos will w see new playback speed justment in player. y can tap and hold right half of video to enable fast-forwarding at 1.5x speed, while sliding right at same time can increase speed up to 2.5x. Releasing touch returns playback speed to 1x. Android users can double-tap left or right of video to skip backward or forward by 10 seconds.

Telegram will w let users d media to a sent mess. Edit option for a mess w has attachment option, allowing users to d photos, videos, and or media. media can be changed any number of times using edit option.

Last edit timestamps for Messs

When a user edits a mess, recipient can w see time of edit. New edit timestamps will show when a mess was last modified.
