Amid COVID-19 lockdown, various religious institutes shift to online worshiping

Amid the lockdown to contain COVID-19, religious places across the country have switched to online social media platforms to stay connected with their devotees

Amid nationwide lockdown due to Coronavirus, religious places across country have switched to online social media platforms to stay connected with ir devotees and pilgrims. new virtual connect through webcast, Facebook live and private channels telecast has allowed devotees to offer ir prayers from home during lockdown.

All religious institutions of different faiths have shifted to online worshiping so that people don't miss any religious activity while y are away. Most of temples, Islamic centres, churches and or religious centres have adapted to online worship trend so that people are safe in ir homes during Coronavirus time.

temples have started webcasting artis, darshans and or rituals so that y can stay connected with devotees. In Uttarakhand, after portals of three of Char Dham shrines opened amid lockdown, priests informed y would opt for digital worship/webcasting if required, especially in case lockdown continues and pilgrims are unable to attend.

Portals of Gangotri and Yamutri shrines opened on April 26 while portals of Kedarnath shrine opened on April 29. Portals of Badrinath shrine will open on May 15.

devotees of Golden Temple in Amritsar Punjab, have also shifted to live streaming of kirtan on Facebook to stay connected with -old rituals that have been traditionally performed re.  Islamic Centre of India Darul Uloom Farangi Mahal is also live streaming evening Taraweeh (prayer).  Islamic Centre has started webcasting Namaz on its Facebook p as it feels it is t right for people to congregate in one place during COVID-19.

Meanwhile, churches across country are also organising Sunday Mass and or prayers on Facebook ps through live streaming. Christians across country observed 'Lent' and celebrated Easter through online streaming of mass by ir respective churches.
