Vivo leads India's smartphone market in Q3 2024 as total shipments cross 4.6 crore units
The market was dominated by Chinese players, with leading brands cornering around 72 per cent market share during the quarter, according to the IDC report.

Smartphone supplies in India grew by 6 per cent to 4.6 crore in July-September quarter with Vivo leing chart and iQoo clocking highest growth rate among top 10 brands, a report by market research firm IDC said on Wednesday. market was dominated by Chinese players, with leing brands cornering around 72 per cent market share during quarter.
" Indian smartphone market grew for fifth consecutive quarter. In third quarter of 2024, smartphone shipments in India reached 46 million units, reflecting 5.6 per cent growth YoY (year-over-year)," report said.

Apple and Samsung clocked 8.6 per cent and 12.3 per cent market share in September 2024 quarter, according to International Data Corporation's (IDC) Worldwide Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker for third quarter of 2024. "Apple h its biggest quarter of shipments, with 4 million units, led by iPhone 15 and iPhone 13. This furr widened gap between value share of Apple and Samsung, which stood at 28.7 per cent and 15.2 per cent, respectively," report said.

"Within 5G, shipments of mass budget (USD 100 to USD 200 or Rs 8000-Rs 16,000 apiece) segment almost doubled, reaching 50 per cent share. Xiaomi Redmi 13C, Apple iPhone 15, OPPO K12x, vivo T3x and Y28, were highest-shipped 5G models in third quarter of 2024," report said.
Vivo supply volumes increased by 20 per cent on YoY basis and its market share increased to 15.8 per cent during reported quarter from 13.9 per cent a year ago. "Vivo continued to le for third consecutive quarter, with affordable Y series and newly launched T3 and V40 series," report said.

Oppo h a 13.9 per cent share, Realme 11.5 per cent, Xiaomi 11.4 per cent, Poco 5.8 per cent, Motorola 5.7 per cent, iQoo 4.2 per cent and OnePlus 3.6 per cent market share in total smartphone supplies during reported quarter.
