One Year Of Israel-Hamas War: A Look At Gaza City Before And After The Start Of Oct 7 War A year of fighting between Israel and Palestinian militants has left the Gaza Strip in ruins, levelling entire neighbourhoods and destroying large swaths of farms across the Palestinian enclave. Gaza City, the power seat of Hamas’s rule for the past 16 years, has arguably seen most of the destitution, especially the city’s eastern and southern neighbourhoods. The area around the Shifa hospital, Gaza’s largest medical facility which the Israeli military raided twice, was flattened to the ground, Associated Press drone footage before and after the war showed. The seaside areas, including the Shatie refugee camp, have also experienced massive destruction, the footage showed.
