Marine Le Pen Rallies Supporters, Urges Absolute Majority After First-Round Gains In French Election

France’s far-right National Rally leaped into a strong lead on June 30. Exit polls suggest Marine Le Pen's party having good chances of winning a lower house majority. Right-wing supporters rejoiced at the polling projections at a rally being addressed by Le Pen. At the rally Marine Le Pen called on voters to give her party an “absolute majority”. Meanwhile, Macron urged voters to rally against the far right in the second round of balloting. Many French voters are frustrated about inflation and other economic concerns. Marine Le Pen’s anti-immigration party has tapped that discontent.
