North Korea Fires Multiple Missiles, Raises Tension In Korean Peninsula
North Korea fired multiple short-range ballistic missiles toward the sea on Thursday, South Korea’s military said. South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff said it detected the missiles launched from North Korea's capital flying 360 kilometers (about 220 miles) before landing in the waters between the Korean Peninsula and Japan. Joint Chiefs of Staff spokesperson Lee Sung Joon said it could've been possible that North Korea carried out the launch in response to a recent combined exercise with the U.S or as a test before exporting weapons to Russia. The launches were North Korea's first public weapons firing activities in more than two months.
