The Union Cabinet has approved a significant railway infrastructure project aimed at enhancing connectivity in North Bihar and the Northeast. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced the sanctioning of the doubling of the Narkatiaganj-Raxaul-Sitamarhi-Darbhanga and Sitamarhi-Muzaffarpur railway line. This 256-kilometer project, costing ₹4,553 crores, will greatly benefit Uttar Pradesh and North Bihar , boosting strategic links to the Northeastern states.
