Congress MLA Attacks Dy. Speaker Dr Momin, Himanta to Take Strong Action

Guwahati: The attack on Deputy Speaker Dr. Numal Momin by Congress MLA Nurul Huda outside the legislature has been sharply denounced by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma , who has called it a police matter. In addition to denouncing the attack, the chief minister of Assam encouraged Dr. Momin to lodge a complaint in order to uncover the facts about the assault. Himanta Biswa Sarma hinted at a wider conspiracy, saying that looking into the assailants' backgrounds would uncover more important problems. Additionally, he made comparisons to previous episodes in Kokrajhar and Udalguri, suggesting that these kinds of situations had the potential to provoke more violence.
