Paralympic 2024: Navdeep Singh Downplays Comparisons with Javelin Star Neeraj Chopra

Navdeep Singh, who a gold medal at men's javelin F41 final in the Paralympics 2024, has understandably faced some comparisons to Neeraj Chopra . After all, the Tokyo 2020 gold medallist is synonymous with the sport of javelin in India. He is also the idol of Navdeep. However, Navdeep has now played down any comparisons between the two of them. Navdeep said that for him, Neeraj will always come first because he was a trailblazer. Navdeep also said that he is not yet at Neeraj's level when it comes to his throwing. "I was inspired by him (Neeraj Chopra) but not quite able to do it like him yet. Meaning he is always going to be respected and my senior so I absolutely cannot compare myself to him because when I saw him and started in javelin so look where he was and where I was. He will always be above me in my eyes, I cannot compare myself to him," he said.
