Video Video: Sanskrit is an ancient language that dates back to the time of the Mahabharata and has mostly been a part of history and culture rather than daily life. In the 21st century, it’s not commonly used in everyday conversations, which makes its use in modern lives quite surprising.

However, a video showing a man doing cricket commentary in Sanskrit has gone viral. This innovative fusion of classical language and modern sport has stunned people online.

Watch The Video:

The video starts with the man passionately commenting on the cricket match in Sanskrit. As the batsman makes a hit, his excitement grows, and his voice intensifies with the thrill of the game. The spectators around him are clearly impressed, cheering and applauding his unique style.

Translated into English, the Sanskrit commentary reads: “The bowler has the ball in his hand. The bowler is coming from a long way. Everyone looks; he hits a good shot and runs to complete a run. They go to talk to each other. Now let’s see what happens next. Everyone is playing with enthusiasm. The bowler is coming again and has played well again. He is playing very well. His name is Manjunath. Run fast.”

The video, shared by Samashti Gubbi on Instagram, has crossed over two million views. Social media users were quick to express their admiration for sanskrit cricket commentary and the beauty of the Sanskrit language.

“Salut for his talent,” a user said, while another added, “We need a Sanskrit commentator like him.”

One of the users said, “Reached 'Dvapara Yuga' while scrolling,” followed by a similar comment, “Cricket in Mahabharata Times.”

Sanskrit, the classical language of Hinduism, was widely spoken during ‘Dvapara Yuga'.

The viral video shows a unique way of bringing Sanskrit back to life by mixing it with the modern century.
