South Asia's tallest skydeck, three times taller than Qutub Minar, to be built in Bengaluru at ₹500 crore.
Bengaluru: India’s tech capital, Bengaluru, is all set to get South Asia’s tallest structure soon. The Karnataka Cabinet approved the ambitious project of the Bengaluru Skydeck at a staggering cost of Rs 500 crore.
The Karnataka government has approved the city's infrastructure and tourism appeal.
All About Bengaluru Skydeck:
Coop Himmelb(l)au worked with the World Design Organisation (WDO) in Bengaluru to develop the Skydeck proposal. The skydeck will be constructed at an estimated cost of ₹500 crore and it would be 250 metres high. For reference, the Qutub Minar is 73 meters tall. The building will be located in NICE Road in the outer parts of Bengaluru, and the project also has plans to connect it with the metro rail system for easy access.
The NICE Road location was agreed upon by everybody, including opposition leaders and the Ministry of Aviation (Due to the Skydeck's height) after considering around 10 places, which also included the Bengaluru University campus, later dismissed due to concerns regarding the impact on students.
“Karnataka government has approved South Asia’s tallest Skydeck. The Skydeck will be built in the city at a cost of Rs 500 crore,” Karnataka’s minister of law, parliamentary affairs, HK Patil, said.
Features Of Bengaluru Skydeck:
The tower, which would take up 25 acres of land, will be roughly 250 metres high—three times higher than the Qutub Minar in Delhi, which is only 73 metres high. The skydeck will be constructed at an estimated cost of ₹500 crore and it would be 250 metres high. For reference, the Qutub Minar is 73 meters tall.
