Varanasi: A recent video of a scooter theft from Varanasi's Durgakund has stunned the residents of the area.

The CCTV footage of the incident went viral as it captured two teenage girls in school uniforms stealing a parked scooter under an apartment on Monday.

According to reports, one of the girls approached a woman living in the apartment and asked for the keys to the scooter, stating she wanted to move it. The owner handed over the keys to the young girl without any doubts due to her school uniform.

After getting hold of the keys, the girl stealthily went down, started the scooter, and fled without raising any suspicion.

Netizens have remarked that this incident turned the Abhay Deol-starring movie "Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!" into reality, in which the character enters homes, pretending to be known to them, and robs them of their vehicles.

As per reports, the victim, Sarika Singh, has filed a complaint at the Bhelupur police station after she grew suspicious when the keys were not returned within 20 minutes.

Police officials have stated that further investigation into the matter is underway.
