Bengaluru: A recent clip showing staff members stealing donations at a temple in Bengaluru has triggered outrage among devotees.

As per reports, the incident took place at the Gaali Anjaneya Swamy Temple in Bengaluru's Byatarayanapura. Multiple videos capture two staff members counting the temple’s donations. In the footage, a man is seen grabbing a bundle of money from another man and discreetly slipping it into his pocket before walking away.

The video was posted by a user on X with the caption: "This is why the government should hand over the administrative duties to the temples. Here at Gaali Anjaneya Swamy Temple, Bengaluru, the administrative staff is pocketing money while it’s being counted. Moments later, the same man picks up another bundle and hands it over to another individual."

Another clip shows the same man pocketing another bundle of cash and handing it to someone who appears to be a priest.

The video has sparked anger among many devotees.

According to reports, the incident gained more attention when Ramachandra, the head priest, spoke to reporters. He clarified that the incident took place over a year ago. In response, the temple administration acted promptly at that time, suspending two executive committee members for their involvement in the misappropriation of funds. Additionally, two cooks implicated in the scheme were banned from returning to the temple.
