Coldplay Concert in Abu Dhabi: Ticket Website Overwhelmed with Demand from India

New Delhi: Following the intense ticket booking spree on BookMyShow to grab tickets for the highly anticipated concert of the British band Coldplay, many disappointed fans have turned their hopes to the Abu Dhabi show. Visuals similar to what fans faced on September 22 are now surfacing on the internet.

Several Indian fans joined the race and queued up to grab tickets for the show scheduled to take place next year. However, fans were left disappointed again as the official booking partner, Ticketmaster, experienced a website crash due to overwhelming demand.

Among the frustrated fans, TV personality Nikhil Chinappa expressed his disappointment on social media after failing to complete his purchase, despite being next in line.

"Not sure what happened here, Ticketmaster. The screen went from 'your turn to buy' to a static screen of the stadium graphic," he wrote.

"Is all of India coming to Coldplay's concert in Abu Dhabi?" another user asked.

"Same issue, looks like Ticketmaster messed up their redirecting links big time. Yet another disappointing ticket booking experience," a third user wrote.

"Indians have flooded the Abu Dhabi show of Coldplay already. Thanks to influencers, Hong Kong will also look like a Coldplay concert in India. Best to wait for a few months until the Indian Coldplay hunger dies down," a final comment read.

When can you book tickets for the Abu Dhabi show?

The band is set to perform in Abu Dhabi on January 11, 2025, at Zayed Sports City Stadium. The general sale starts on September 27, offering another opportunity to snag tickets through the band’s website.

According to a recent report by Mint, a round trip to Abu Dhabi, including accommodation and concert tickets for Zayed Sports City Stadium, would be a more economical option compared to purchasing resold tickets for the concert in India, which could cost up to Rs 9 lakhs on Viagogo.

Tickets for the Abu Dhabi concert are priced between AED 195 and AED 3000, amounting to approximately Rs 68,000.
