According to the reports, a portion of the hill collapsed on the National Highway 66 near Shirur village in Ankola taluk. And it washed away more than five people who were standing on the banks of the Gangavali River. Although the district administration has to confirm this incident.
Rescue and search operations are underway to find the missing individuals, but the overflowing Gangavali River is hampering them. A few days ago, the National Highway that connects Honnavar and Bengaluru was also stopped because of the debris.
